How We Work With Our Community

Skills & Livelihood Workshops

A few times a year, together with a local women's economic-empowerment organization, we run short workshops for our members on bookkeeping, food safety, and production skills for the soap workshop, the kitchen, and the shop. Around twenty to thirty women take part in each cycle.

Youth Mentorship Program

Each summer we host a small group of high-school and university students from Salfit for a short internship, pairing them with our members to learn bookkeeping, food handling, and the everyday work of running the shop, kitchen, and soap workshop.

A Future Powered by the Sun (Coming Soon)

Electricity in Salfit is expensive, and it cuts into what our members take home. As part of our long-term sustainability goals, we're putting a growing focus on renewable energy — starting with a planned rooftop solar setup for our shop and kitchen building, to bring our running costs down for good.
